When Swami Maharaj was at Mangalvedha he used to visit Pandharpur, Begampur, Chalambe, and other villages in the nearby area. Chalambe is a village of Patwardhans.
One day Shri Samarth was in the Ramdasibua Math at Chalambe. He had His meals there and then took a nap. Ramdasibua had some work to attend to, and hoping not to disturb Swami's repast, he quietly closed the locked doors of the math and left.
That evening people saw Shri Swami Samarth playing in the sand on the banks of the river Bhima. This news eventually reached the ears of Ramdasibua.
Readers should note that the Bhima river does not flow through Chalambe and that is why Ramdasibua thought that it may be some other Swami at the Bhima because Samarth was at his math resting.
On reaching the math, Bua opened the lock and saw inside to find Shri Samarth missing. Bua was surprised as there was no other door that Swami could have used. He then realized that this was all part of Swami's leela.
Bua then traveled to the banks of the river Bhima, and after having received darshan from Maharaj, brought him home.
